The Muskogee County EMS American Heart Association Training Center offers the following courses:

Courses fill up fast! To reserve your spot in a course, please come by the Muskogee County EMS business office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pay the course fees, and pick up the course textbook and pre-test (preferably at least 48 hours in advance of the course date) at:

Please note that all course length times are approximate due to varying needs of skill practice and written testing. The American Heart Association requires a textbook with each class.

Course # 305 - Healthcare Provider CPR:
This certification course teaches the fundamentals of CPR for the adult, child and infant victim. It also teaches the use of an automatic external defibrillator. This course is designed for the professional rescuer who is required to have CPR for his/her profession.

Required American Heart Association Book:	BLS for Healthcare Providers
Cost (includes book and card):	$ 45.00
Schedule:	First Monday of each month, starting at 9:00 a.m. Third Friday of each month, starting at 10:00 a.m.

 

Course # 304 - Healthcare Provider re-certification course:
This re-certification course is designed for the Healthcare Provider who is required to have CPR for his/her profession. This course teaches the fundamentals of CPR for the adult, child and infant victim. It also teaches the use of the automatic external defibrillator. To enroll in this class, your CPR card must still be current (not yet expired).

Schedule:	Third Monday of each month, starting at 9:00 a.m.

 

Course # 238 - American Heart Association First Aid:
This certification course includes first aid training (with environmental emergencies included). This course does not include the automatic external defibrillator.

Cost (includes book and card):	$ 30.00
Schedule:	Second Monday of each month, starting at 9:00 a.m. Fourth Friday of each month, starting at 10:00 a.m.

 

Course # 236 - American Heart Association CPR and First Aid for Day Care Centers:
This certification course teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the adult , child and infant and the basics of first aid for the day care center setting (with environmental emergencies included). This class is taught in accordance of the requirements for the Department of Human Services. This course does not include the automatic external defibrillator.

Course length (approx):	2 hours for CPR plus 3 hours for First Aid

Schedule:	Third Monday of each month, starting at 12:30 p.m.

 

Course # 243 - American Heart Association First Aid with Adult/Child CPR plus AED:
This certification course includes first aid training (with environmental emergencies included) and CPR for the adult and child victim, plus the use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED).

This certification course is for the layperson (non-medical person) wanting to learn CPR for the adult and child victim.

Schedule:	Second Monday of each month, starting at 9:00 a.m. Fourth Friday of each month, starting at 10:00 a.m.

This certification course is for the layperson (non-medical person) wanting to learn CPR for the adult, child and infant victim.

Schedule:	Third Monday of each month, starting at 12:30 p.m.

 

Course # 231 - Heartsaver CPR and AED:
This certification course is for the layperson (non-medical person) wanting to learn the CPR for the adult and child victim (includes any victim over the age of 1) and the use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED).

Course length (approx):	4 hours

Course # 226 - CPR for Family and Friends (Adult and Pediatric CPR):
This course is not a certification course, but is an orientation in the fundamentals of CPR for the adult, infant and child victims.

Course # 227 - Heartsaver CPR in Schools (Adult/Child CPR):
This certification course teaches the fundamentals of CPR for the adult and child victim. This class also includes the optional segment covering the automatic external defibrillator (AED). This class is broken down into 40-minute segments to fit the schedule of most school systems.

Course length (approx):	Adult CPR - 40 minutes Child CPR – 40 minutes AED (optional) - 40 minutes Skills test – 40 minutes

Course # 228 - Heartsaver CPR in Schools (Pediatric CPR):
This certification course teaches the fundamentals of CPR for the child victim (includes child victims between 1 - 8 years of age). This class also includes the optional segment covering CPR for the infant victim (includes any victim under the age of 1). This class is broken down into 40-minute segments to fit the schedule of most school systems.
